Birth

Elizabeth Keen (1884-1967) The first home of the couple was a small pug house northwest of Hochkirk (Tarrington) now owned by Mr. Ed Kurtze. A daughter was born the following year. A few years later Paul purchased a house and some land between Rippon Road and Breakneck Corner where he lived for the rest of his life. Paul underwent surgery for hydatids which later developed into a terminal illness. After much suffering he passed away and was buried in the Lutheran cemetery. After Pauls death Elizabeth left the district and the daughter Catherine was subsequently adopted by Daniel and Ellen O?Callaghan and changed her name to Mary Catherine O?Callaghan. At the aged of 25, (1909) Elizabeth Mibus (nee Keen) was married to Edgar Freeman, in Hamilton. Elizabeth had 5 more children. There is no record of her life?s activities until her death at Glenhuntly aged 83 years. At the time of her death she resided at 15 Rosedale Avenue, Glenhuntly.
